MILFORD – The family of a missing local woman is still waiting for answers after a body was found behind Jacques Memorial School on Friday morning.
Lorinda White went missing Aug. 6, and her boyfriend, William Pillsbury, said that as of Saturday evening, the family had still not received any new information on whether the body had been identified or if it was White.
Pillsbury said he is hoping to hear more from police in the next couple days, but until then, he did not want to discuss the case further.
Police were called around 11:30 a.m. Friday about a body that was found behind the elementary school and confirmed that an untimely death had occurred.
Police did not return calls for comment Saturday and declined to comment Friday on whether the body was male or female, or if it was White who was found behind the school.
The state’s medical examiner was expected to perform an autopsy Saturday.
Police have said they are waiting for the examiner’s report before releasing any more information.
By Saturday morning, the crime scene tape and police cruisers that had surrounded the area where the body was found were gone.
The searchers that had combed the area for the past week looking for White also were gone, after White’s family called off the search efforts for the missing mother Friday afternoon.
