Man charged with sexually assaulting two women, and stealing from one of them, Nashua police say

NASHUA – A local man is charged with sexually assaulting two women, and stealing from one of them, police said. James Hewes, 57, of 4 ½ Ridge St., was arrested Sunday, police said. He is charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault - felony, and one count of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a class A misdemeanor. Detectives on Sunday were investigating a report of a sexual assault, The victim recently reported the alleged assault, which she said had occurred roughly a year earlier, police said. During the course of the investigation, detectives located a second victim who told police she had been sexually assaulted by the same suspect within the last few weeks, police said. Detectives also discovered that Hewes had stolen property belonging to the second victim, police said. Hewes and the two adult female victims are all known to one another, police said.
