CONCORD (AP) - New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte says Mitt Romney has made a "fantastic choice" in picking Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate.
Ayotte's name was often in the mix as speculation swirled during about Republican Mitt Romney's choice for vice president.
Ayotte said Saturday that Romney and Ryan will put America back on a path of prosperity by reforming government, enacting real deficit reduction, and overhauling the tax code to spur economic growth.
She said nothing about the possibility that she could have been Romney's pick.
Ayotte has developed a warm relationship with Romney and is often at his side when he visits New Hampshire,
She had her supporters. Former House Speaker Donna Sytek said Ayotte understands a range of issues from her time as attorney general.
