MONT VERNON – Because of Sunday’s tropical rains, local pets will have to wait a couple of weeks to receive their blessings from the Congregational Church.
Pastor Judie Bryan said the church’s Blessing of the Animals will now take place on Aug. 26. The exact time will be announced.
Everyone in the community is invited to bring their cats, dogs, iguanas, horses, guinea pigs, turtles, snakes, birds or other pets – the furry and not-so-furry to the outdoor event.
All pets must either be on a leash or in a carrier.
The church is at 4 S. Main St., which is also Route 13.
