Both of Nashua’s hospitals break even on the latest round of measurements tied to Medicare reimbursements, but will be facing more comprehensive grading systems next year as part of national efforts to improve health care quality while controlling costs.
“The bar is getting higher and higher. Making this public really has accelerated communication, compassion; patient satisfaction is getting higher because it’s being publicly reported,” said Dell Gilbert, director of organizations and service excellence at St. Joseph Hospital.
