Playing and winning two games on the final day of the Chick-fil-A Holiday Basketball Tournament to capture the title was a good sign for the Nashua South boys basketball team. The biggest question about the Panthers coming into the season was how deep coach Nate Mazerolle could go into a talented, but inexperienced bench.
So far, South looks deeper now than its did two weeks ago.
“That final day was actually tougher on Thornton Academy than it was on us,’’ said Mazerolle, referring to his final opponents from Saco, Maine. “We played at noon and our kids had a chance to go home and rest for the (6 p.m.) final.
“They played at 1:30 and went double-overtime.![]()
