Tuesday
Climate control
After that cold spell last week, you’re more thankful than ever that you don’t live on Mount Washington, often referred to as the home of the world’s worst weather. Find out what things are like at the summit – while staying toasty warm – at a presentation by Eric Pinder at 7 p.m. at the Amherst Public Library, 14 Main St.
Pinder is the author of “Life at the Top: Weather, Wonder and High Cuisine from the Mount Washington Observatory,” among other books, and spent seven years at the summit as a weather observer. Be sure to ask him about Jasper, the lesser known of the observatory’s famous cats.

Modern manners
In an era overflowing with technological options, you’re unsure of the most appropriate way to express your gratitude to those who gave you gifts this holiday season.
