NASHUA – A Dracut, Mass., contractor has been fined $55,600 for alleged safety violations while doing trench work on Prospect Street in Nashua as part of the city’s sewer upgrades.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Tuesday that it has fined DeFelice Inc. The company has until Jan. 22 to reach a settlement or contest the citation, OSHA said.
OSHA fined DeFelice because on June 24, inspectors from OSHA’s Concord area office “observed a DeFelice employee working in an inadequately guarded excavation that was more than 8 feet deep.
