It was a wild and crazy weekend of National Football League playoff games, wasn’t it?
But none of that bizarre air found its way into Gillette Stadium on Sunday. The New England Patriots are looking like a team headed to another Super Bowl. Things are falling into place.
The Patriots’ karma began to surface Saturday night when the Baltimore Ravens stunned the Denver Broncos in overtime with an improbable late comeback.
That gave the Patriots a clear chance at hosting next Sunday’s AFC Championship game. They didn’t waste it, as their AFC Divisional Playoff 41-28 drubbing of the Houston Texans, though not as easy as the 42-14 regular season game, was decisive.
These are not your Patriots of 2009 or 2010.
