MANCHESTER (AP) - A New Hampshire man convicted of attempted murder in the shooting of a Manchester police officer faces up to life in prison when he's sentenced in Hillsborough Superior Court.
Twenty-three-year-old Myles Webster of Litchfield, who's scheduled to be sentenced Monday, was convicted in December of firing at officer Daniel Doherty on March 21. Doherty suffered seven bullet wounds that fractured his leg and damaged his intestines. He has undergone seven surgeries and has yet to return to work.
Webster's lawyers claim he was innocent and that it was a case of mistaken identity.
It took jurors less than two hours to convict him of attempted murder, two counts of felony reckless conduct, robbery and resisting arrest. Doherty left the courtroom Dec.
