WILTON – Police have charged a 21-year-old Norton, Mass., man with simple assault, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief after he allegedly attacked a police officer who was trying to question him about allegations of threats to the Mall of New Hampshire and to shoot at the Wilton Police Department. On Monday, Brandon Jordan, of 1 Kendall Park, Norton, was arraigned on the charges and held in lieu of $10,000 bail, cash or bond. According to police, the investigation began Saturday around 8 p.m., when the department received information from Manchester police that Jordan allegedly made the threats. About 90 minutes later, Wilton officers located Jordan at a residence in town. According to a police affidavit filed in circuit court in Milford, Jordan allegedly told a friend he was going to the mall to shoot the place up, then to the Wilton Police Department and shoot that up, too. While officers were attempting to question him, Jordan allegedly attacked officer Michael Abel, striking him in the head and body, according to a department press release, but Abel and other officers were able to take him into custody and the charges were filed. Abel received minor injuries, police said. Wilton police are still investigating the alleged threats. – MICHAEL CLEVELAND
