Cats vs. dogs: NH ranks high for feline ownership but low for canines

Cats rule in New Hampshire, at least statistically speaking, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association. The AVMA recently released the U.S. Pet Ownership and Demographics Sourcebook, which showed 34.2 percent of the state’s households owned a cat in 2011. New Hampshire ranked 10th in the nation in cat ownership for that year. The trend is reversed for their canine counterparts.
