Nashua South 74, Alvirne 60
Tim Preston scored 30 points to help the Panthers rally from first- and second-half deficits in a game highlighted by physical play, including a scuffle in the fourth quarter that led to an ejection.
Jack Preston added 17 points for South (8-1) before he was ejected from the game for leaving the bench, and David Dunham added 14 points as the Panthers outscored Alvirne 23-8 in the fourth quarter.
The Broncos (5-4) got 18 points from Tyler Livingston, 16 of which came in the first half, and 16 points from Alec Yoksh, including four 3-pointers. Tyler Brown also had 13 for Alvirne.
Late in the fourth, players from both teams battled for a loose ball and the officials eventually signaled for a jump ball. As South tried to call a timeout, Alvirne’s Dan Kingsley and South’s Dan Auger got into a heated exchange. Some South players left the bench – assuming the timeout had been granted, according to coach Nate Mazerolle – and Jack Preston was ejected from the game.
