CONCORD – The New Hampshire Liquor Commission raised $11,500 for Moore Mart Charity, of Nashua, in partnership with Southern Wine & Spirits and Diageo.
Moore Mart supplies deployed military personnel with care packages containing food, hygiene products and entertainment items.
In November and December, Southern Wine & Spirits and Diageo contributed 25 cents for each bottle of Crown Royal sold at New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets statewide, including sales from the new Crown Royal Maple Finished.
Another $1,500 was collected through fundraising efforts at bars and restaurants across the state.
Patrons purchased a paper Crown Royal bottle for $1 or $5 which was then displayed on site.
Customers also were encouraged to drop off unused Crown Royal bags to New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet stores.
Over 5,000 bags were collected and will be used by troops as storage pouches to protect their night vision goggles.
Moore Mart provides active military personnel with items to make their deployment easier, assembling and shipping care packages that contain requested items such as hand warmers, sunscreen, soccer balls and t-shirts to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
