One of the region’s highest profile startups, DataGravity, has landed $30 million in financing less than a year after being founded, and it says the money will fuel its continued growth in Nashua.
The firm, which aims to make large-scale data analysis, so-called “big data,” available to smaller and mid-size companies, has expanded to 30 employees and remains on track to roll out its first product in 2014, said CEO Paula Long.
Long, who lives in Hollis, is best-known for co-founding EqualLogic, a Nashua-based storage networking firm that was sold to Dell in 2008 for $1.4 billion. DataGravity’s president, John Joseph, was vice president at EqualLogic.
That track record helps explain why DataGravity raised an initial $12 million from investors and received its Round B financing several months ahead of schedule, Long said. The financing was announced Tuesday .
