NASHUA – If Leslie Mendenhall had her way, the Review and Comment Commission would dish out the full $785,000 in federal and city aid requested this year by Nashua area agencies.
The commission is a volunteer board that works with 25-35 more volunteers to distribute nearly $520,000 in a mix of city money and federal grants. Most agencies will be lucky if about half of their requests are met this year, Mendenhall said.
“There’s always a need,” Mendenhall, the commission chair, said. “All the needs are quality programs to the city. The city needs them, and it would be great if we could fund all of them.
