MANCHESTER – They can beat you using a number of different weapons.
Say top gun Connor Powell is being pushed around, the way the Dover Green Wave tried to do Monday. Then a senior leader such as Dom Valuzzi will come through with a hat trick.
Thus, the Merrimack High School hockey team keeps rolling along, as their 6-2 win over the Green Wave at West Side Arena showed. The ’Hawks remain unbeaten (13-0) atop Division II, and beat a team that has been a thorn in its side (think 2011 title game) the past couple of years.
“We always have a little fire in us when we play Dover,” said Valuzzi, who scored twice in the second period to snap a 2-2 tie. “I get pumped up before the game, especially seeing (Powell) get knocked around.
