NASHUA – Nashua High School North girls basketball coach Ricky Oliver sent a team-wide text message on Wednesday night, informing his players of Manchester Memorial’s stunning upset victory over Pinkerton Academy in the Division I Tournament preliminary round.
Pinkerton, unbeaten for most of the season, was a third seed at 16-2. Memorial, the 14th seed, barely qualified for the tournament going 5-13.
The intent of the message was a warning. Anything can happen in a tournament game against a team with nothing to lose. And it almost did to the fifth-seeded Titans, who watched an 11-point lead dwindle down to one in the final minutes before pulling out a 46-37 victory over No.
