NASHUA – When Mike Hayden decides to take over a game, watch out. The Hollis Brookline High School Cavaliers had no answer on Saturday for the Souhegan junior forward. Make no mistake, Hayden was the main ingredient in the fourth-seeded Sabers’ 6-2 Division III boys hockey quarterfinal win over the Cavaliers at Conway Arena. Hayden came through in a big way with a five-point game, two goals and three assists, all in the first two periods. “Michael’s been our best player all season long, I see no reason why he shouldn’t have been our best player tonight,” Sabers coach Dan Belliveau said, his 14-5 team now preparing to face John Stark in the semifinals Wednesday at 5:30 at Concord’s Everett Arena. “He certainly was the best player on both teams. The kid can skate, he can play defense, he can shoot the puck, and he can certainly score.” He had four of his points in the first period, figuring on all four of the Saber goals as they grabbed a 4-2 lead.
