NASHUA – Forget wind, rain and snow. The next disaster to threaten Nashua residents, and the city’s public records, could come from below, City Clerk Paul Bergeron warned this week.
“By the way, sewage is a real issue here in Nashua,” Bergeron said Tuesday at a session on public records maintenance held at City Hall.
“I remember one time, a few years ago, sewage backing all the way up in the streets. Kids were taking out their rubber floats,” he said with a laugh, speaking of sewage leaks that have destroyed records elsewhere in the state. “It’s gross, but it’s true.”
The information session, one of a series of presentations Bergeron has held over the years, didn’t focus long on sewage leaks.
