They don’t rebuild, they reload, and nobody reloads better and faster than the Trinity High School boys basketball team. After appearing in their fifth Division I final in seven years Saturday and defeating Bishop Guertin 50-46 for their second title over that stretch, Trinity coach Dave Keefe looked to next winter when they have four starters back, including unofficial tournament MVP Carmen Giampretruzzi. The 6-foot-3 junior, who has already agreed to a baseball scholarship at Boston College, led the title games in points (18), rebounds (13) and steals (three), despite being limited to 21 minutes by foul trouble. “In my eight years here, he’s been the best glue guy I’ve had,’’ Keefe said of Giampetruzzi. “I’m just glad I’ve got him for another year. “He’s the guy who, when things are going bad, is like another coach on the court, gathering him teammates together for a quick pep talk.’’ Giampetruzzi was sometimes overshadowed by 6-7 teammate Mabor Gabriel, who blocked four shots Saturday and grabbed nine rebounds, with Trinity fans chanting “MVP, MVP’’ with each block or dunk. But there was no question who Trinity’s real MVP was this winter. Who else is back While the No. 1 seed had four starters back, so does the No. 2 seed, Manchester Central, which dropped an overtime decision to Bishop Guertin in the quarterfinals.
