A storm that came in two waves caused minimal problems in both, as motorists seasoned for bad weather driving slowed down and school cancellations took a bite out of early morning traffic.
“We’ve had as normal a day as we can have,” Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Brian Rhodes said. “It appears both the timing and hard work of (city) public works and the state DOT this morning made a difference.”
Meanwhile, the feds appear to have rescued the city of Nashua’s snow budget, Mayor Donnalee Lozeau said.
Before Tuesday’s late-winter storm, the city’s $1.3 million snow removal budget had been spent, and it appeared the city would have to dip into a $351,000 trust fund to pay for treating and plowing roads.
However, the city learned it’s eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency reimbursement for money spent on the Feb.
