NASHUA – Police continue to investigate damage to roughly 86 gravestones at Woodlawn Cemetery, vandalism that will require an estimated $30,000 to repair.
Police received a complaint on March 14 that 82 headstones had been knocked over and damage. The following day, cemetery officials discovered that four additional headstones had been damaged, police said.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in catching the culprits. Anyone who may know something about the vandalism is asked to call the Nashua Police Department at 594-3500 or the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
Woodlawn is the city’s largest cemetery at 40 acres and is located between Kinsley and West Hollis streets.
