MANCHESTER – Merrimack High School Principal Ken Johnson and technology department head Thomas Putney know the impact that collaborating with local businesses can have on student achievement.
The two have been part of the high school’s NH Scholars program since 2007, and have seen the number of students involved. The program brings in business leaders to mentor students. Participation has tripled in five years, with almost 600 students involved this year.
“They’re realizing the importance of taking challenging courses,” Putney said. “They can explore career fields, the education required and the resources available.
