NASHUA – The Academy for Science and Design charter school likely will find a new company to manage student data after a computer glitch sent report cards of the school’s 96 sixth-grade students to all of those students’ parents.
Jennifer Cava, the school’s director, said FOCUS, the company that manages the school’s student data, was quick to take responsibility for the error and even sent an fruit basket to the school to apologize. A committee already had been formed to explore switching student data companies given the school’s expansion and growing needs, Cava said.
“If I were a betting woman, I would say we’ll be transferring student data to another system,” she said. “We were already considering whether we wanted to stay with FOCUS.”
The charter had been in Merrimack until moving to Nashua this summer. Charter schools are public schools overseen by a board of trustees.
Cava said a parent contacted the school on Oct.
