The election season was the right time for Carla Nastri to take a break from her normal volunteering gig to try a new hat.
The first-time political volunteer from Amherst had never worked on a campaign before volunteering for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s presidential bid.
Nastri said she volunteered for Romney because she was afraid of where the country would be in four years if President Barack Obama were re-elected.
Now that the election has come and gone, Nastri and other local volunteers find themselves with free time or a gap in their schedule.
Some chose to continue their volunteer service, while others opted to focus on their family lives.
Post-election, Nastri will resume her normal volunteering duties for the New Hampshire Soccer Association.
