NASHUA – Both of Catherine Oro’s grandfathers are U.S. military veterans, one a Purple Heart recipient. So it’s natural that she came out again this year to march in Nashua’s Veterans Day parade, and that she’s been a member of the American Legion junior auxiliary all her life.
Though it’s a life that’s so far spanned just 21⁄2 years, it’s certainly gotten off to a patriotic start. On Sunday, little Catherine, outfitted in her tiny Legion auxiliary beret and accompanied by grandmother Catherine Partridge, stepped off from Holman Stadium with scores of boys, girls, men and women shortly after the conclusion of the traditional 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month ceremony.
“She joined when she was born,” Catherine Partridge, whose husband, George, is a veteran and Coffey Post member, said of the post’s junior auxiliary.
