NASHUA – Police arrested a Hudson man they say assisted in the theft of merchandise from a store where he worked.
Richard Karanja, 19, of 8 Brightside Drive, is charged with criminal liability for the conduct of another to theft, a class A felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison plus fines.
A local retail clothing store reported to police that while Karanja was employed by this store, he was involved in the theft of merchandise. The value of the theft exceeded $1,500, leading to the class A felony charge.
Detectives in the Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation, and Karanja was arrested shortly before midnight Monday.
Karanja’s bail has been set at $2,500 cash or surety pending his arraignment scheduled for Tuesday at Nashua district court.
