Finding effective solutions to a drug epidemic that has its roots in legitimately prescribed medicine is tricky business.
The drug companies supply billions of dollars worth of medications each year. Patients want the drugs from their doctors, who prescribe them willingly. Some of those drugs trickle down into the hands of teens. A few too many of those teens become addicts, and in the worst cases, they die before they get help.
That’s not to say experts aren’t working on it.
