A Nashua man was arrested and charged with strangling a woman early Wednesday morning.
A woman told police on Tuesday that a man had strangled her. Members of the department’s Domestic Violence Unit investigated and later charged Richard Albert, 24, of 28 Forge Drive, with domestic violence second degree assault, a felony, police said.
Albert is also charged with four counts of domestic violence simple assault, domestic violence criminal mischief and on a warrant for nonappearance in court, police said.
Albert was held at the Nashua Police Department without bail pending his arraignment at Nashua district court on Thursday, police said.
The Class B felony second-degree assault charge is punishable by up to seven years in prison, plus fines. The rest of the charges are misdemeanors and punishable by up to a year in jail, plus fines, police said.
