CONCORD – A half- dozen Nashua area legislators have won political promotions as House Speaker Terie Norelli, D-Portsmouth, filled out membership on the 21 policy committees.
Rep. Cindy Rosenwald, D-Nashua, scored one of the biggest assignments when she was named as the No 2. member of the powerful House Finance Committee.
The House budget-writing group will have the first legislative shot at a two-year spending plan once it receives the proposal of Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan, who must deliver it by Feb. 15.
And Rosenwald will chair Division 3 of the budget document, which includes the Department of Health and Human Services, the largest agency that consumes nearly half of the financial blueprint.
Rosenwald, a six-term Democrat, leapfrogged over more senior Democrats on the panel to serve directly under new Chairwoman Mary Jane Wallner, D-Concord.
