Habitual offender nabbed driving in Nashua

NASHUA – A Nashua man was arraigned Wednesday in district court on felony and misdemeanor driving charges after police stopped him Tuesday afternoon for allegedly making an unsafe lane change on the Walnut Street Oval, police said. David Blackledge, 68, of no fixed address, was charged with driving as a certified habitual offender, a Class B felony, and driving without giving proof of financial responsibility, a Class A misdemeanor, police said. The felony offense is punishable by up to five years in prison, exclusive of fines, police said, while the misdemeanor offense is punishable by up to a year in jail, exclusive of fines. – DEAN SHALHOUP
