CONCORD (AP) — New Hampshire Attorney General Michael Delaney is forming a commission to combat human trafficking and modern-day slavery in the state.
The commission is being created in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that 200,000 American children are potentially trafficked each year into the sex trade.
Delaney is holding a news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday at his Concord office. He says the commission would identify victims of human trafficking and develop protocols on handling the cases.
