LITCHFIELD – As many as 17 people were reportedly sickened, apparently by exposure to carbon monoxide, around noontime Wednesday at a construction and landscaping firm on Colby Road.
Several mutual aid ambulances were dispatched to 12 Colby Road after people began complaining of dizziness and nausea, according to preliminary reports.
At least one individual, a woman, was transported to a local hospital. Indications were that most victims were being treated at the scene.
It wasn’t immediately known if a leak caused the people to be exposed to carbon monoxide or whether there was a system or equipment malfunction.
