NASHUA – Police arrested a Nashua woman early Tuesday morning after finding her passed out behind the wheel of her car, with the engine still running, officials said.
Cynthia Silva, 50, of 164 E. Dunstable Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor, as well as driving as a certified habitual offender, a Class B felony, because her license was revoked in 2010, police said.
Police responding to the parking lot at 300 Main St. for a report of an unresponsive woman in a car located Silva’s car shortly after 2 a.m., they said.
Officers, who found the car parked with the engine running, contacted Silva and, police said, concluded she was under the influence of alcohol.
In the course of arresting her for driving while intoxicated, police said officers learned that her license was revoked in September 2010 for previous driving-related offenses, which currently makes her a certified habitual offender.
Police said Silva was released on $2,000 cash bail pending an arraignment scheduled for Feb. 5 in Nashua district court.
A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines.
