NASHUA – A Massachusetts woman is charged with stealing merchandise from a local retail store.
Eliza Rivera, 38, of 130 Mount Washington St., Lowell, Mass., was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with Class B felony theft, police said.
A local retail store reported to the Nashua Police Department that Rivera had stolen merchandise, police said. Members of the Uniformed Field Operations Bureau responded, and the Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Rivera was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and unsworn falsification, Class A misdemeanor, police said.
The Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in prison plus fines. The Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail plus fines.
Rivera’s bail has been set at $ 8,000 cash pending her arraignment at Nashua district court on Thursday, police said.
