MANCHESTER – The Nashua High School North boys basketball team was robbed Tuesday night, and not by the refs.
The Titans’ 74-55 loss at Manchester Memorial was tough enough, but when the North players returned to the locker room, they found it had been ransacked.
Most of the 12 varsity players lost their cellphones, iPods and whatever cash was in their wallets.
North coach Steve Lane’s estimate of loss was $1,500-$2,000.
“It’s an ongoing investigation,’’ Lane said. “What we hope is that the kids get their stuff back or there is some sort of restitution.’’
Lane said it’s normal procedure at most schools, including North, for a member of the school staff to lock the locker room door as soon as players leave for the court. It’s normal procedure at Memorial, as well, he said.
“Obviously, the kids are upset and their parents are upset,’’ Lane said.
