The Granite Geek column in Monday’s Telegraph inaccurately said that the fermented drink mead is made by replacing the hops used in beer-making with honey. The honey actually replaces the malted barley as a source of sugar. Obviously Dave Brooks, the columnist, needs to attend Wednesday’s Science Cafe about brewing.
