LITCHFIELD – A verbal dispute at a Litchfield School Board meeting in early May has resulted in a police officer manning future meetings without extra cost to the board.
The Litchfield Board of Selectmen met Monday evening with School Board President John York about requests from community members to have an officer stationed at meetings. An officer was assigned to the board’s last meeting at the end of May. Another officer will be at the Wednesday night meeting.
Former board member Jason Guerrette and resident Eric Klaft confirmed that their argument May 9, which started during public comment and eventually spilled out into the hallway, was the reason an officer is assigned to the meetings.
