Merrimack Election Day is Tuesday, April 9. Candidates for any school or town office who want to post their biographies on our website can do so. Visit The Merrimack Journal’s home page, www.cabinet.com/cp/merrimackjournal, and click on the “Submit your bio” button. Questions? Contact Dave Brooks, dbrooks@nashuatelegraph.com or 594-6531. Candidate bios submitted online by Monday, April 1, will appear in next week’s Merrimack Journal. Who’s running? As a reminder to voters, here are the candidates vying for open seats: Town Town Council, two, three-year seats: Incumbent Dan Dwyer and former councilor David Yakuboff. Library Trustee: Richard Barnes is running uncontested for a three-year seat; and Jennifer Jobin is unopposed for a two-year seat. Ethics committee, two seats, three-year term – no one filed. Trustee of the Trust Funds, one seat, three years – no one filed. School District School Board, two seats, three-year terms – Incumbents Shannon Barnes and current Chairman Chris Ortega are running for re-election against challenger Gary Krupp. School District Budget Committee, four seats, three years – Alicia Nelson, Lisa Mooney and incumbent Stanley Heinrich. Mooney filled a seat vacated mid-term and is running for a full term. Planning and Building Committee, two seats, three-years – Incumbents Stanley Heinrich and Gage Perry. School District Moderator, one seat, three years – Lynn Christensen. School District Clerk, one seat, three years – Incumbent Patricia Heinrich. School District Treasurer one seat, three years – Incumbent Richard Hastings. Where, when to vote On Election Day, Tuesday, April 9, polls will be open from 7 a.m-7 p.m.
