DERRY – When two high school football teams play on consecutive weeks, like Nashua South and Pinkerton Academy did, the advantage, in terms of adjustments, usually goes to the losing team. But it doesn’t keep the winning team from a few tweaks as well. And Pinkerton, a week after beating South 40-20 at Stellos Stadium, made all the right moves Saturday, drubbing the Panthers 42-3 in the Division I semifinal and setting up the final showdown everyone has anticipated all season with No. 1 Exeter. Pinkerton put 40 points on the board in Nashua with a balanced attack. Saturday it simply put the ball in the hands of its best offensive player, and junior running back Manny Latimore delivered, rushing for 206 yards on just 15 carries and scoring five touchdowns. South entered the game knowing it needed to play mistake-free football to stand a chance. The Panthers made them early and often. They knew they couldn’t squander any chances against a solid Pinkerton defense.
