NASHUA – Video production students at the city’s high schools may soon be working in high definition. The Board of Education approved Monday night a plan to move forward with a full studio upgrade at Nashua High School South. The project, which could cost as much as $119,000 taken from the district’s Career and Technical Education fund, would replace a piece of faulty control room equipment that shut down the studio’s broadcast capabilities last year and would upgrade other equipment throughout the facility. “This is what the CTE account is designed for,” said board President Robert Hallowell on Monday night. “It seems to me to make sense just to get this done.” The project will ensure students are using the most up-to-date equipment, easing the transition from the classroom to working at a professional studio, school officials said. The final cost of the project still is being worked out, and the board approval of the plans are dependent on school officials getting additional bids for the project. Cost items will be brought back to the Finance and Operations Committee, where the discussion on the studio upgrade began Nov.
