BEDFORD – A pair of young Manchester men named Johnson were held over the weekend pending Monday morning arraignments after police caught up with them while investigating shoplifting incidents at the Stop & Shop on Kilton Road, police said.
First to be arrested was Donald Johnson, 21, of Manchester, who police found in a nearby parking lot after identifying him as the shoplifting suspect, police said.
As officers investigated the incident, a second individual, George Johnson, 20, was also identified as a shoplifting suspect, police said. During that investigation, George Johnson took off running, but was apprehended and placed under arrest, they said.
Donald Johnson was charged with robbery, and held on $5,000 cash bail. George Johnson was charged with willful concealment, resisting arrest, simple assault and also on an outstanding bench warrant, police said.
