HUDSON – The driver whose truck left Lowell Road, crossed the front lawn and came to rest against the Fairview Healthcare building Tuesday afternoon apparently lost control because of a medical problem, a witness said.
Rachel Schofield, an employee of Fairview, at 203 Lowell Road, said she heard that the driver, reportedly a man, encountered some type of sudden medical issue just before the late-model pickup truck he was driving left the road.
Schofield said ambulance personnel were doing CPR on the driver as they removed him from the truck.
There wasn’t any major damage to the truck, which was wedged between a tree and the brick-faced building. Any damage to the building appeared to be minor.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. A Hudson police cruiser remained at the scene at 5:30 while an officer and another man inspected the truck and building.
Nobody was evacuated from Fairview, and the incident caused no disruptions for staff or residents.
